Just another view of the world

Religion is Stupid

Thank you to the stupid polygamists for proving my point – YET AGAIN.

Religion is stupid. It is just an excuse for perverts and pedophiles to commit heinous crimes. For polygamists, their faith is an excuse to force young girls into marriage and sex (RAPE) against their will. It’s an excuse to have multiple sexual partners.

For religious extremists, it’s an excuse to kill those who sin because they think they are cleansing the world.

You all are freaks and need to get a life. By that I mean, get your own life, stop “living” your life by a stupid, MAN-WRITTEN book. There’s no proof of a higher being, so as far as I’m concerned, there isn’t one. I believe in material things, real things – things that I can see and touch and experience.

If it’s not tangible, it does not exist for me. And I can honestly say that. And I can also honestly say that I have a very good life and I am perfectly happy accepting the fact that we are all alone on this earth and we only have each other.

The Hills

Man, I love “The Hills.” I think it’s probably because I wish I was rich like that and could live that kind of life. That, and the girls are really pretty.

In the latest episode, Spencer moved out of his and Heidi’s apartment…but I had a question: Why is he the one moving out, when technically it’s HIS apartment? He’s the one who bought it and asked Heidi to move in and live with him. I guess it just goes to show you that women are the bosses!! :)

Religious Hypocrites

After reading a news story the other day, I realized that we (excluding myself) are a bunch of hypocrites when it comes to God and religion, and what we take as being real and allowed.

The story I read stated that the parents of a young girl who died from a terrible infection are being taken to court on grounds of child neglect, etc. This is because they chose to “ignore” (what I call it) her infection and sickness, not take her to a hospital, but instead they relied on prayer – they said it was part of their faith that they do not even bother with doctors and hospitals, but rather rely on their faith, their prayer. Well, officials got word of that once the child died, and now they are being charged with her death.

Now what does this tell us as a society? That God does not exist. That prayer does not work. This is conflicting with our persistence in keeping God involved in everything politics (for example: “in God we trust” is on our currency). This doesnt make any sense. With this story, it is perfectly evident that we acknowledge that prayer does not do anything and that these parents, by relying on their faith, did something very terrible. And their child died. With this story it is evident that we do in fact approve of everything science and medically related, because we are subconsiously stating that had the family ignored faith and taken their child to a hospital, she could have been saved.

Does anyone else read into this like that? We are so hypocritical. But I am atheist and therefore do not believe in God or any higher power. I believe that we are in fact on this earth all alone, evolution is real, and something along the lines of the Big Bang is what got us here. So I always roll my eyes when I see stories like this (dont get me wrong, I do believe the parents should be prosecuted for their ignorance) or hear that we need more of God around.

If society loves God so much, how come it is so contradictory on the subject?
